LGBT Progress… and Barriers

This month of LGBT pride month. Although the LGBT community has much to be proud of, there are still many barriers that impact the community. Coming out is still difficult and shaming for many people. Families continue to struggle with acceptance. And the community continues to struggle with acceptance within it as well. Although LGBT progress has been significant, it shouldn’t overshadow the barriers to social progress.

There are several ways that you can get involved in making change. But the most significant change that you can make is with openness. Letting people know that you will and do accept them. Don’t assume that they know. Because they might be assuming the opposite.
